Why does website maintenance actually matter?
Because most site failures are quiet ones. An update breaks your contact form, an SSL certificate lapses, or a known problem sits open for months. None of it announces itself. You just stop getting enquiries and don’t know why.
What’s included each month?
Tested core updates, uptime monitoring, form testing, hosting, backups and revision hours for the content changes you need. WordPress sites also get plugin and theme updates, firewall and malware scanning, and daily offsite backups.
How often do you update my site?
EmDash core updates go in when they’re released, after we’ve tested them against your site. WordPress updates run weekly and are checked afterwards. Security patches go in sooner when something warrants it.
How do you keep my site secure?
EmDash runs each plugin in its own sandbox, and the site sits on Cloudflare’s network. WordPress sites get a firewall, Cloudflare in front and malware scanning. Either way, we can roll the site back if something goes wrong.
Do I need this if my site is brand new?
Every site we build includes a free month of support after launch. After that, a new site still needs updates and backups, but if we think you can wait, we'll tell you rather than sign you up.
